Uses

The most obvious use of rose oil lies in the area of perfumery, although for reasons of cost synthetically manufactured substitute ingredients are often employed here. Top quality perfumes, such as Chanel No. 5 and various other cosmetic items, e.g. those in the "Dr. Hauschka" series, do, however, contain genuine rose oil. But this is not only due to the unique fragrance of rose oil but also to the effect that is attributed to rose oil. Rose oil is said to smooth the skin, kill germs, have a calming effect, and regenerate cells, and it is believed to have properties that promote good hair growth.

Its therapeutic areas of application are not, however, confined to the purely cosmetic area. In addition, rose oil is believed to lift the spirits and stimulate the libido, and furthermore to be able to alleviate fatigue, headaches, general tiredness and even constipation.
